The €4,500 DAFT Investment Requirement

To qualify for the DAFT visa, American entrepreneurs generally need to invest at least €4,500 in their Dutch business. This is not a fee paid to the Dutch government. The money remains yours, but must be invested in your business and maintained as business capital.

For most applicants, this means depositing €4,500 into a business bank account registered in the name of their Dutch company. The investment must be documented through an opening balance sheet and supported by a business bank statement.

Under the IND's official requirements, financial supporting documents must be verified by an independent financial professional, such as a bookkeeper or accountant.

Opening Balance Sheet by Cardon & Company

Cardon & Company can provide you with an opening balance sheet documenting your €4,500 investment for submission to the IND.

Our balance sheet service is available as a one-off service, meaning you do not need to sign up for ongoing bookkeeping or accounting.

We also provide balance sheets for Japanese entrepreneurs applying under the Dutch-Japanese Trade Treaty, which has similar investment and documentation requirements.

For more information about the application procedure, read our complete DAFT visa guide.
